We are part of many crochet groups on Facebook, and they share some wonderful ideas and projects. There was one that had been floating around that caught my eye, a beautiful hooded sweater. I thought about it for a while and finally decided I would buy the pattern when it was available. It was eventually released, and I bought it the day it came out. Let me tell you; this is the most in-depth and complicated item I have ever tried to make. I knew this before I even started working on it. In the pattern, it tells you what kind of yarn to use and how many skeins to use. I did a little shopping around and decided on the type of yarn and what color I wanted. I got that ordered and waited for it to get there. While waiting, I didn't look at the pattern (my mistake) because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to wait to get started on it. Note: please read over all patterns to look for errors BEFORE you start to work on them!! So, the yarn finally arrives and I start right in. It's well written and easy to follow from the beginning. By this time, I've been working on it for about four days. I am fairly far into it. Then it happens. I get to a point in the pattern, and I realize, I haven't done what the author has told me I need to connect to. So I email the author to find out. Well, it turns out I have to pull out two days worth of crocheting to add the part that was omitted. I still haven't picked it back up. When I finally finish it, I'm sure it will be beautiful, but I just don't have it in me to redo all that work for four rows that had been left out of the pattern. Moral of the story read through the pattern and make sure you understand it. If you don't get it, email the author and get clarification!!! Ugh....
